The day started out overcast.

It was late season, the second week in April.

The ski area is immense.  It extends to the ridge around the left side of the picture.  I am standing on Sunrise Ridge, which means you are looking at the Eastern fifth of the resort.

The slopes were just so crowded.

The view back over the Ogden Valley.  Snowbasin is off to the left.

The day started out overcast.

Hidden Lake Lodge at the top of  the Hidden Lake Express lift.

As is often the case out west, wait 15 minutes and the weather will change.

The slopes were just packed!

We could hardly move because of all the crowds.

Just unbearable crowds everywhere.

Another view from the top of Sunrise Ridge.

Unfortunately, Powder Country was closed.  Last year was a bad year for snow (only about 260 inches).  El Nino years are bad for Utah.  La Nina years, however, are the opposite and 2008 is a La Nina year.  Look for over 500 inches of snow this season.
